#4 - Discover Neuchâtel with Domaine Dargagny

Welcome to the French-speaking canton of Neuchâtel, a land of secret valleys, majestic limestone ridges, and winemaking traditions that date back more than a thousand years. Escape to the enchanting heart of western Switzerland, a region where pristine alpine lakes meet rolling hills covered in historic, sun-drenched vines.

Here, the vineyards slope gently down toward the shimmering waters of Lake Neuchâtel, creating a stunning microclimate sheltered by the high peaks of the Jura Mountains. Neuchâtel is famed for its Non Filtré (an unfiltered Chasselas released every January), its mastery of Pinot Noir like the vibrant Œil-de-Perdrix (the region's iconic Pinot Noir rosé). You will discover a sophisticated haven for wine lovers seeking breathtaking landscapes, deep history, and authentic Swiss hospitality.

Your exclusive experience begins at the historic Caves du Prieuré in Cormondrèche. Set inside a beautifully preserved estate, this winery seamlessly blends monastic history with modern viticulture. Upon arrival, you will be greeted with a welcome drink before embarking on a guided tour. Weather permitting, you'll stroll through the nearby sun-exposed vineyards of the Domaine de la Goutte d’Or or Domaine des Grands’Ordons. From there, you will step back in time as you explore the ancient stone cellar, home to an impressive traditional wine press and a historic chapel that echoes centuries of local winemaking heritage. The highlight of the visit is a curated tasting of five exceptional regional wines, expertly paired with a delicious cold platter of artisanal  delicacies.

To complete your immersion into the region, your getaway includes a two-night stay at the historic Hôtel de l’Aigle in Couvet. Nestled in the heart of the mythical Val de Travers, this charming, rustically elegant hotel provides the perfect home base for exploring. At the end of your first day, you'll also indulge in a fantastic dinner at a handpicked local restaurant.

Known for its quiet forests, rushing rivers, and as the birthplace of absinthe, the valley offers endless magic to discover on your second day. For those eager to dive even deeper into Neuchâtel's wine heritage instead, an exclusive optional tour awaits at the magnificent Château d’Auvernier. Perched right near the lake, this family-run estate has been producing world-class wines since 1603. A walk through their striking 15th-century cellars offers a rare look into one of Switzerland’s most celebrated and enduring wine legacies.
