Furthermore, turn this from just one awesome dinner into a two-day staycation with two nights in a premium room at the new Kimpton Alton Hotel in Fisherman’s Wharf.

Francis Ang trained under the famous chef Gary Danko and was the executive pastry chef of the acclaimed Fifth Floor Restaurant, where he received numerous accolades, including Food and Wine magazine’s “People’s Best Pastry Chef” for the West Coast and a nomination for Zagat’s “30 Under 30” in San Francisco.

Growing up in the bustling city of Manila, capital of the Philippines, Ang was always surrounded by a diverse culture of true fusion-style food—influenced by the country’s complex history of Malayan settlers, Chinese tradesmen, Spanish rule, and American colonialism—but it was after the Philippines were devastated by a massive typhoon that Chef Ang used all of his influences to host a fundraiser showcasing Filipino dishes. It was a massive success. Since then, Chef Ang and his wife, Dian, have made a name for themselves with their pop-up restaurant, Pinoy Heritage, which has won Eater SF’s “Pop-up of the Year” and named Ang a “Rising Star Chef” by the San Francisco Chronicle.

Now, Chef Ang and the Pinoy Heritage crew are bringing fine dining to Filipino cuisine. Opening within the Kimpton Alton Hotel, Abaca focuses on small plates for each guest to share and taste many different dishes rather than order just one big entree. Chef Ang will present you with a variety of his recipes: mouth-watering combinations of Californian ingredients and Filipino flavors.

When you finish your delectable dinner, you can retire to your premium accommodations upstairs at the Kimpton Alton, located in the heart of Fisherman’s Wharf. Your room will have an LCD TV with streaming, luxurious bath and bed amenities, a custom mattress, and your choice of one king-size or two queen-size beds.

From your window, you will look out onto the city with great views of this popular district. Here in the Kimpton Alton Hotel, you are surrounded by lively street musicians and street performers, iconic sea lions and seafood, historic properties and personality. With your stay, you will enjoy the amenities and accommodations of an upscale hotel while experiencing all of the fun and culture of Fisherman’s Wharf.
