New to botox? Have no fear! A botox party is an event where a group of people gather to receive cosmetic injections of botulinum, a neurotoxin that temporarily paralyzes the muscles and reduces the appearance of wrinkles. Administering the botox is Wendi Karam, a licensed Registered Nurse with Persimmon Health. The full effects of Botox are seen at around 14 days. The injections are typically administered to the forehead, around the eyes, and between the eyebrows for results within a few days as your muscles relax and allow for your skin to smooth. Botox sets in within a few days up to a week and full effects are seen around 14 days. Botox typically lasts 3-4 months.
The atmosphere will be very social and you will find yourself chatting with a flavorsome drink while you take turns receiving your injections. There will also be a "Botox Bar" for the evening which will include delectable wines and cheeses to nibble on. Each client will take approximately 30 minutes for consultation, assessment and treatment.
More about Wendi:
It is important to remember that botox is a medical procedure and should only be administered by a licensed and trained professional in a sterile environment. This is what makes Wendi so fantastic - she has over two decades of experience as a nurse, and has transitioned to aesthetic nursing over the past few years working both part time in a facial plastic surgeon’s office and for Persimmon Health, a local startup specializing in aesthetic treatments in the convenience of your home or designated venue.
Wendi has this to say about her passion for aesthetic nursing:
“I love the satisfaction of providing botox and aesthetic treatments that are tailored to the patient's desired outcome. Beauty is feeling the best version of yourself on the inside and out!”
Risks and side effects of receiving botox will be addressed in the medical clearance provided by an MD via telehealth prior to confirming your appointment. Downloading the Persimmon app on your phone will expedite the information required for treatment.
